GMU Student Media

Many students also find that their experience with Student Media transforms their resume and uniquely prepares them for high-profile internships and post-graduation success. Our students’ recent Freshmen-Editors-2016undergraduate internships include Wolf Trap, The Washington Post, Gannett/USA Today, and ABC-7 (just to name a few). Student Media alumni currently hold positions with CBS, ABC, ESPN, the United States Congress, and various media companies and affiliates across the country.

The Voice of the Student Body
Student Media serves as the voice of the student body and publishes exclusive content in print, online, and over the air. In addition to daily newspaper, radio, and television content, Student Media also publishes several magazines (Freshman Focus, OutlierThe Forge), the Mason yearbook (GMView), two undergraduate literary journals (Volition, The George Mason Review), and three graduate literary journals (The Hispanic Culture Review, So to Speak, Phoebe) that showcase creativity and scholarship from across the curriculum. These publications offer all Mason students the opportunity to submit original works for publication in a variety of mediums and topics from creative writing to academic research to fine art to cultural identity to feminist theory.
