I’ve been working and fighting for a better Richmond since 1989, when I was elected as your Commonwealth’s Attorney and then a member of the Virginia House of Delegates.

As a delegate, I fought for Democratic Party principles, like bringing Obamacare to Virginia, improving Richmond City Schools, and helping people get their right to vote back.

Richmond faces many problems: dysfunction in city government, inequality in our neighborhoods, and too many failing schools. As your mayor, I’ll work to bring people together across this region for the benefit of our city. I’ll lead the fight against blight, build new affordable housing, and increase the minimum wage – I promise!

As your mayor, I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to make City Hall start working for you. I’ll be your mayor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
