Dear Dietra,

Thank you for taking the time to meet with Nader Momtaz and myself. We are very excited to form a long-standing relationship with you and your office!

I know that you met with Nader and Scott briefly during the October Board of Visitors meeting and that they told you a little bit about Virginia OnAir and the work that we are doing to become a successful organization. Just to remind you, we are an elections and governance hub that provides information for Virginia voters so that they can become more engaged and informed when it comes time to cast their ballot. We also serve as a resource for those wishing to view their elected representatives more personally, by providing in-person video interviews with elected officials, broadcasting town hall events, and hopefully more in the future.

We have recently been in contact with Virginia21, of which I am the State-wide student leadership committee chair, about their potential partnership with Virginia OnAir. If we were to gain VA21 as our first official sponsor of the hub, hundreds of thousands of students would be armed with information heading into this election. We were wondering if there are any other organizations, similar in civic engagement nature, that would become a good partner for us in the future.

We are also looking to expand our advisory board. This group of professionals would serve as a resource for our student-run hub, and provide us with top-notch information so that we can continue developing ourselves civically and professionally. Finally, we are hoping that your office could become a resource to us. With all of the good that President Holton and yourself have already brought to GMU, we were interested to see if you had any proposed connections via the media that could potentially write a column or story on our progress thus far.

With all of the work that Nader and I, along with a dozen other college students are doing, Virginia OnAir is sure to be a success and ultimately serve as a model for other states in the coming months. Thank you for believing in us, and thank you for always advocating for students in Virginia. Our success is your success.
