My name is Sophie Wagner. I am a current undergraduate student at George Mason University majoring in Global Affairs and French. I am currently the Interim Hub Administrator for the onAir NY Government Hub and a coordinator for the onAir Meet Your Candidates Night @ GMU as well as the Vice President of Students onAir @GMU Chapter.

I am working with onAir Networks because I am passionate about foreign affairs, governmental policy, and domestic politics. Making information about our democracy more widely available is very important to me, especially regarding elections.

Aram Zucker-Scharff was the first developer of the onAir Knowledge Network System.

Aram currently is the Engineering Lead for Privacy & Security Compliance at The Washington Post. He previously worked on the Zeus team, helping publishers to maximize site performance and revenue. He has also worked on The Washington Post’s Ad Tech R&D and Big Data teams. Aram has developed open-source tools for publishers and consulted on content strategy and digital newsroom workflows. He was one of Folio Magazine’s 15 under 30 in the magazine media industry.

Adia is an incoming 2L at Campbell University School of Law. Her interests include capital criminal litigation and employment advocacy, but I am open to exploring all facets of the legal spectrum.

At Mason, Adia was in the Honors College and majored in Communication and Government and International Politics. As far back as I can remember I have always been interested in government at all levels, from the local level to the federal level. So much so that I have considered a career in field of government since childhood. In addition to this, over the past couple of years I have become increasingly interested in the role of elections and electoral policy, and how it shapes the government of the United States. My internship with the Virginia Elections Hub is to progress my interest in public participation and policy and to contribute to the research and curation of reports.

As a freshman with Mason Cable Network, I served as the Assistant Production Manager and was promoted to Production Manager just one year later. Led a team to participate  in the 2018 Richmond 48 Hour Film Project. During my senior year of high school. I won a grant to write, direct, and edit a 20 minute short film, “eighteen,” which she submitted to film festivals around Virginia.

I am very excited to join the Mason Cable Network crew and to work with a team of creative and hardworking people. In the future, I would like to edit and produce feature films.

Assistant Professor, George Mason University teaching Writing and Rhetoric: writing program administration, professional writing, composition.

Lourdes Fernandez serves as Assistant Director for Advanced Composition; she teaches composition, advanced composition,  professional and technical writing, and rhetorical theory for the English Department. She earned a PhD in Writing & Rhetoric from George Mason University; her research interests include hybrid course design and pedagogy, the rhetorics of institutional responses to public problems, the rhetorics of research methods, and rhetorics of sexual assault.

Dr. Fernandez led a focus group of students doing a usability study of onAir in the spring of 202o as well as preliminary navigation study in the fall of 2019.
